Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy)

These “Phil Lynott” features were produced for the Birmingham Music Archive in 2009 and feature presenter Paul Murphy. The audio slideshows were created in association with Jez Colins and my favourite photographer Ellie Gibbons from the Birmingham School of Media at BCU. A 26 minute documentary was produced and broadcast to celebrate what would have been Phil Lynott’s 60th birthday, and traced him from his birth in Birmingham to his eventual death…

BBC WM played the documentary on Saturday 22nd August ’09 and also created a tribute page which can be accessed via BBC WM.

Sections from the main documentary were also broadcast on Dublin’s Spin 1038 and Absolute Radio, UK nationwide.
