Lenny Pickett

Lenny Pickett is an influential saxophone player who has been the musical director of the Saturday Night Live show since 1995. He was nice enough to show me around the SNL studio’s after this interview for the Bowie Docs in March 2008. This two part interview focuses on Lenny’s experiences as one of David Bowie’s three saxophone players on the Serious Moonlight world tour of 1983. Edited sections were used in the “Bowie’s Waiata” and “Down Under The Moonlight” features – celebrating the 25th anniversary of Bowie’s ’83 tour of Australia and NZ.

In part two of this interview, Lenny continues to recount “life on the road” with David Bowie as a saxophone player on the Serious Moonlight world tour.
