Hamish McKeich

This documentary, produced for Radio New Zealand’s “Musical Chairs” series, profiles young conductor Hamish McKeich.

From his early days as a performer – to his career as a respected conductor, this feature follows Hamish’s success in the concert Halls of New Zealand, Australia, China, the Netherlands, England, Austria, Switzerland, France and Germany. From 2002-2006 McKeich was Associate Conductor of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra and still performs regularly with them today. He has given over 80 world premieres of new works and he is also chief conductor of the contemporary ensembles Stroma and 175East.

This is one of the rare instances where I’ve narrated my own documentary (I’m cheap) and was originally produced in 2004.
